No End In Sight
Due to Iraq being such a contentious issue I have intentionally avoided the topic. There has been and continues to be a plethora of information about this issue from a multitude of perspectives. I choose not to chime in. Not for fear of feedback. What is currently occuring in Iraq is a very nuanced and ever-changing situation. Thus it would completely dominate this blog.
Nonetheless, I have discovered a very engaging and comprehensive film about the topic that may be of interest to you. Check out the preview for it and more importantly see the film. This issue is far too significant to be ignorant about. American lives are on the line for goodness sake. And sitting idly by is UN-AMERICAN!!!
DIALOGUE IS DEMOCRATIC!

Taking any kind of stand these days on the war only brings about conflict, so I defiantly understand your reasoning for not diving into such a heavy issue.
However, I do think there are some things that people do need to address concerning the War in Iraq. I think what's most important in this "war" situation we're in, is to remember that regardless of our feelings toward the war (pro-war, anti-war, neutral)...the fact is, our country is in fact, standing right in the thick of it. And as of now, there isn't an 'end in sight'. But even more pressing, is the fact that we have hundreds of thousands of soldiers out there fighting and thousands more training and preparing to risk their life for this war. Point is, we have to support our troops, even if we don't support the war.
I love how you said that "being idle is UN-AMERICAN", because that is essence of this whole argument. We can oppose the war and fight to bring the troops home but regardless, we have to maintain our support for them while this ugly thing is still a reality. And believe me, this war is defiantly a reality for them, even if it seems distant to the rest of us.
Thanks for the info on this film by the way...I'm looking forward to checkin it out. Keep em' coming my friend...I thoroughly enjoy my daily sift of information...you keep my mind well oiled to think critically about the politics in this country!
